Car Free Week – commencing Monday 16th September

Due to Congestion issues outside our school, we are promoting a Car Free Week at our school the week commencing Monday 16th September.  In conjunction with Hamilton City Council we will offer prizes for parents/students who walk/bike/scoot/skate or take a bus.

This event is a great opportunity to encourage our school community to try and go Car Free for at least one week… and have a fun day on the Friday.

Hamilton City Council will supply us with:

Prizes: 5 adult umbrellas, 10 student umbrellas, 10 Fidget spinners, 10 slap bands per school to use as prizes.

• We are promoting active transport the entire week with the Friday being a dress up day!
• We will create a ‘No go Zone’ for cars on the Friday, probably by the usual busy areas
• We will have a points system for students who walk/bike/scoot or skate throughout the week
• We will have a Car Free week treat where students receive a treat if they go car free for the week!
• Teachers will have a list for their class to be completed each day that week – how the children got to school.
